Samuel S Sheaffer Jr. 82 of 1809 Linciln Highway East died Friday evening at Lancaster General Hospital after a brief illness. He was husband of the late Mrs. Amy Jane Hocking Sheaffer who died in January 1977. Born in Lancaster, he was a son of the late Samuel S and Ida Weachter Sheaffer Sr. He was owner and operator of Sheaffer Meats for over 60 years at the Lancaster Central Market. He was a member of the Plymouth Brethern Church, Monterey Chapel. He is survived by one daughter Ruth L. wife of Vincent Collier of Columbia; six sons: Samuel S Sheaffer III of Leola, Paul D. and James G both of Lancaster, John R. PhD of Wheaton, IL. Dr. Harold Sheaffer M.D. of Newton Square and Victor E of Tuscon, AZ; 28 grandchildrenl 8 great-grandchildren, and a sister Rhoda Krall of Lancaster. Internment will be in Mellingers Mennonite Cemetery.
