Obituary of Joseph Alt

Joseph Alt, son of John and Anna (Bernandin) Alt was born in New Washington, O., in 1849 and departed this life Saturday, February 15, 1913, at the hospital at Columbus, O., at the age of almost 64 years. Cause of death being consumption.
He was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth Bishoff at Bismark on February 28, 1879, residing for 10 years in Reedtown. They then moved to this city, living here the remainder of his life. To this union were born eleven children, six boys and five girls, two died in infancy; a daughter Lesta and a son John having died two years ago, his wife also prededed him to eternity two years ago.
The deceased had been somewhat in failing health ever since the death of his wife; as he was gradually growing weaker, his son Fred had him taken to Columbus hospital for medical care about a month ago. Mr. Alt is widely known in this vicinity as he spent the greater part of his life here. He was a life-long member of the Catholic church.
He leaves to mourn his death four sons, August of Akron, Frank of Webb City, MO., Victor of Struthers, Ohio and Fred of Attica; three daughters, Mrs. Rose Judy, of Deerfield, Ind., Mrs. Louisa Kanny of Sulpher Springs and Mrs. Monica Saull of Bucyrus; eight grandchildren, one brohter William Alt of Ottawa, Ohio and one sister, Mrs. Mary Faeth, of Stanley, Ohio
The remains wer brought here from Columbus on Monday and funeral services took place Wednesday morning, February 19, from St. Bernarnd's church, Rev. Fr. Kunnert officiating. The C.M.B.A.'s of which he was a member attended the funeral in a body. Burial in Catholic cemetery.
