Ruth Anna Morris, 91, New Market, died at 10 am Sunday (Aug. 22, 2004) in her residence.
Mrs. Morris was a postal clerk for the New Market post office from 1965 until her retirement in 1979. Her memberships included the First Baptist Church of New Market and a charter member of American Baptist Women. She was a 1933 graduate of Bainbridge High School.
She was born March 14, 1913, at Whitesville to Newton I. and Grace M. (Surface) Bowman. She married John E. Morris April 13, 1936, at Rockville. He died Nov. 21, 2002.
Surviving are a son Sherman Morris, New Market; one grandchild; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. One grandson, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Funeral services are scheduled at the Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, New Market, with the Rev. Jeff Tryon officiating. Burial will be in the Ladoga Cemetery.
