George Newton Bowman, 64, 213 Herbert Street, Port Orange, a heavy equipment operator with the Wilbur Farnell Land Clearing Company, Samsula, before his retirement, died Tuesday at home after a short illness. Mr. Bowman was born in Waynetown, Indiana and came here in 1938 from Crawfordsville, Indiana. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the S N P J Lodge 603 (the Slovenian National Benefit Society), Samsula.
Survivors include two sons, George Johnson, Samsula, and Richard Bowman, Lake Ashby; two daughters, Mary Adams, Mansfield, Ohio, and Iva Griffin, Tampa; three brothers, Byron and Richard, both of Samsula, and William, Bonanza, Oregon; two sisters, Elsie Stewart, Pittsburgh, and Ruth Morris, New Market, Indiana; and nine grandchildren. Cardwell, Port Orange, is in charge.
