Rites Monday for Boy Who Drowned
Services for Michael Victor Case, 7-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Bud Case of Decatur, who was drowned at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the pond behind the Krick-Tyndall Tile Mill at Decatur, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Mary's Catholic Church. The boy drowned while wading along the shore of the pond.
He and two companions, one 12, the other nine, had been wading. The older boy swam three-fourths of the way across the pond and back before he and the nine-year old left the site to fetch the victim's bicycle. When they returned the boy was not to be found, and the two went to the tile mill office for help. Members of the Decatur Fire Department found the boy's body at 3:35 p.m. in six feet of water.
Surviving besides the parents are four sisters, two brothers, all four grandparents and a great-grandfather. Friends may call at the Winteregg-Linn Funeral Home
