RICHMOND – Mrs. Mary Gold Adkins, 64, a native of Norfolk, died in Richmond Memorial Hospital Sunday at 10:30 a.m. after three months’ illness.
A daughter of Alfred and Irene Anderson Gold and the widow of Robert Miller Adkins Sr., she was a member of Depp Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving are five daughters; Mrs. Vergie E. Ward of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Ruth Bridges of Princess Anne County, Mrs. Eunice M. Bowman, Mrs. Dorothy V. Mathews and Mrs. Alene E. Barrett, all of Norfolk; seven sons, James M. Adkins, Leonard O. Adkins, William E. Adkins, Robert M. Adkins Jr., Franklin R. Adkins and Thomas W. Adkins of Norfolk and Raymond D. Adkins of Richmond; four sisters, Mrs. Georgia Catron of Goody, Ky., Mrs. Beulah Adkins of Goodwill, W. Va., Mrs. Nellie Grevette of Talladega, Ala. and Mrs. Virginia Lambert of Baltimore, Md.; two brothers, Robert Gold of Talladega and Lee Gold of Jacksonville, Fla.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk, with burial in Rosewood Memorial Park, Bayside.
