SOUTH NORFOLK – Robert M. Adkins Sr., 65, farmer of R.F.D. 2, Norfolk County, died yesterday at 10:45 a.m. in a Norfolk hospital after an illness of four weeks. He was the husband of Mrs. Mary Gold Adkins.
A native of Bland County, he had resided in the county the last 15 years.
Besides his wife, surviving are seven sons, Leonard O. Adkins, Raymond D. Adkins, Roosevelt F. Adkins and Thomas W. Adkins, all of Norfolk; William E. Adkins, James M. Adkins and Robert M. Adkins Jr., all of Richmond; five daughters, Mrs. Vergie E. Ward, Mrs. Ruth Irene Bridges, Mrs. Eunice M. Bowman, Mrs. Dorothy V. Mathews, and Mrs. Alene E. Barrett, all of Norfolk.
The body was removed to the Graham Funeral Home. Arrangements were incomplete last night.

Ward, pastor of the Deep Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park, Princess Anne County.
