Alex Schneider, 88, of Lexington, died Friday, April 22, at the Tri-County Hospital where he was admitted April 19.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. David Crittenden officiating. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery.
He was born to Conrad and Luise Helvish Schneider on March 20, 1889 in Morr, Russia. He was united in marriage to Amelia Moor in Russia, where three children were born before the family came to the States in June, 1912. They made their home for a time in Ohio before moving to Lincoln for a number of years. Their hom has been in Lexington during the past 30 years.
He had been in failing health during the past few years and more than a year ago became a resident of Westside Home.
Survivors include his widow, Amelia; four sons, Alex Jr., Henry and John Schneider all of Cozad, Manuel Schneider, Lincoln; three daughters, Mrs. Arnold (Ruth)Woehrle, Lexington, Mrs. Esther Reinhardt, North Platte, Mrs. Marie Peters, Downey, Calif.; 29 grandchldren, 69 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
