Alex Schneider, Jr. 81, died July 5, 1991 at Callaway.

Services were at 2 p.m. July, 8 at Parkview United Methodist Church at Cozad with the Rev. John R. Green officiating. Burial was in the Cozad Cemetery.

He was born August 6, 1909, at Moor, Russia, to Alexander and Amelia (Moor) Schneider. At the age of 3, he moved with his family to the United States, first to Ohio and in 1914 to Lincoln.

On May 15, 1930, he married Katharine Harmony. They moved in 1932 to rural Cozad where he was engaged in farming until 1971, when they moved to Cozad. He had been a resident of Callaway since 1983.

He was a member of Parkview United Methodist Church and was a charter memeber of the Cozad Elk's Lodge.

Schneider is survived by three sons, Alex W. and wife Marjorie of Callaway, Milan and wife Sandy of Gibbon, and Tim of Jonesboro, Ark; two brothers, John of Cozad, and Henry of Lincoln; two sisters, Esther Reinhardt of North Platte, and Ruth Woehrle of Lexington; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Katharine in 1983; a son, Jerry; four brothers and one sister.

A memorial has been established to the Callaway District Hospital.
