STREET- Alton Davis, 74, Olive Branch,died February 23, 2000 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis. He attended Shady Grove High School and was a member of Mineral Wells Baptist Church and a retired owner/manager of a Memphis Restaurant Supply Co. He entered the Navy on January 14, 1944 and received training in San Diego, CA. He went overseas May 1, 1944 to Pacific, Marshall Islands, Pearl Harbor, East Carolinas, for 18 months.He was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific medal, Victory Medal. He was discharged April 20, 1946 at Millington, TN.
Services were February 25 at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch with burial in Memphis Memory Hill Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Street; three daughters, Vickie Reyes, Lana Jones both of Olive Branch and Gail Donato, Memphis; four sisters, Edith Watson, Olive Branch, Velma Harris, Memphis, Ollie Mae Wilbanks, Ripley and Nelta Hammerlund, San Diego, CA; on brother, J.T. Street, Ripley; five grandchildren.
