Warden—

Mr. John W. Warden, one of Lincoln county's most respected citizens, aged 79 years and 11 months, died of pneumonia at his home on the Highway on Sunday, June 8, 1930. He was one of our loyal friends and we can testify from an intimate acquaintance in his high-mindedness and sterling character. His entire life was without the semblance of fraud or guile, he was actuated by such lofty ideals of probity and right that he had rather suffer a wrong than to commit one. Such a citizen will be sadly missed. He was a loyal member of the Primitive Baptist church. Funeral service was conducted by Eld. W. T. Mitchell, burial at Rose Hill cemetery. Surviving him are his wife, three sons and three daughters, James, Tillman and Iliff Warden, Mrs. W.B. Lawler, Mrs. W. A. Mills and Mrs. E. P. Johnson.
