EDUCATOR DIES; FUNERAL SATURDAY

Ashton (Special Dispatch): -- A longtime Nebraska educator, Maurice L McCrory, 64, of Ashton, died Wednesday in his home.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Saturday at St. Francis Catholic Church in Ashton with Rev. Michael Szczesny officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Rosary will be recited at 8 PM Friday at the Badura Funeral Home in Loup City.

He was born October 6, 1904, to Iva C. and Maude McCrory, and graduated from Elmwood High School.

Mr. McCrory recieved a bachelor's degree from Peru College and a master's degree in Education from Nebraska University.

Having been an educator for 39 years in Nebraska he taught at Greeley, Boelus, Clay Center, Ashton, Creston, and Campbell. For 36 of the 39 years, Mr. McCrory was a school superintendent.

On April 3, 1926 he married Anastasia Smith. They had 4 children. She died in 1959.

On May 25, 1961 he married Martha Gehring at Ashton.

Survivors include his widow; two sons, Francis of Seattle, Wash. and Vernon of Lincoln; two daughters, Mrs. Richard McMillan of Lincoln and Miss Ellen McCrory of Lincoln; eight grandchildren; one brother, Edward of Murdock; and four sisters, Mrs. Vic Thimzen (Edna Thimgan) of Lincoln, Mrs. Clinton (Bernice) Jones of Ashland, Mrs. (Della) Lawrence Earl of Ashland, and Mrs. (Dorothy) Norman Yardley of Stapleton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one grandson.
