Johnson, Joseph -- Capt. Joseph Johnson died at the residence of his daughter in Upper Sandusky (OH), Wednesday, May 3, 1876, aged 89 years, 10 months and 1 day. The deceased was a Captain in the war of 1812. He came to this county at an early day, and located at Bellville, where he resided until his death, at which time he was stopping temporarily with one of his daughters. He had long been a member of the Disciple Church, and in his every day life was a sincere and consistent disciple and follower of the Saviour. His funeral took place at Bellville, Friday of last week, at 10 o'clock A.M., Elder Wm. Gass conducting the services. [Richland Shield & Banner: 13 May 1876]
