Lovina was born the 29th of June 1811. She was the daughter of Joseph Johnston. Lovina married Samuel Lafferty on the 7th of October 1834 in Ohio. They had one daughter, Lovina Malissa (born the 7th of October 1835 in Bellville. Lovina (Johnston) Lafferty passed away about a week later, leaving behind her precious baby girl. The name Lovina was passed down through the family, first to her daughter Lovina Malissa and then to her third great granddaughter, Lavina (McCoy) Lanouette.
