Funeral services for Jimmy Don Welch of Vaiden will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, at Vaiden United Methodist Church in Vaiden, with burial following in Vaiden Cemetery in Vaiden. Bro. Don Sampley and Bro. Finis Beauchamp will officiate the services.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 10, from 10:00 a.m. until service time, at the church.

Mr. Welch died of complications from pneumonia at Golden Living Center in Eupora on Wednesday, May 7. He was 61 years old.

Mr. Welch was born in Carroll County on March 26, 1953, to the late Willie C. "Monkey" and Estelle Lorene Brooks Welch. He was a member of Vaiden United Methodist Church and a Special Olympics participant for several years while living at the Kilmichael Group Home. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Wilson Welch, Wallace Welch, Billy Welch, and Paul Welch.

Survivors include three sisters, Barbara Matthews of Vaiden, Janie Tollison of Starkville, and Mary Sampley of Vaiden; four brothers, Wayne Welch of Winona, Ray Welch of Vaiden, Robert Welch of Vaiden, and Cecil Welch of Baton Rouge, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.

Pallbearers will be Billy Welch, Sherry Blaylock, Angela King, Tosha Sullivan, Amy Helms, Tammy Nelson, Bruce Welch, Kenny Welch, and Matt Welch.

Memorial contributions may be made to French Camp Academy, One Fine Place, French Camp, MS 39745; Palmer Home for Children, P O Box 746, Columbus, MS 39703; Vaiden Methodist Church, 300 Court St., Vaiden, MS 39176; or to the Special Olympics, 1133 19th Street NW, Washington, DC 20036.
