Bristow -- Mrs. Emma Jane Gough, 80, Sept. 27 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Rev. and Mrs. W.I. Gough, San Fernando, Cal., where she had been cared for since the death of her husband, Rev. Joseph J. gough, in August, 1944; prior to going to California Mrs. Gough had lived her entire life in the Bristow community; nee Emma Jane Chapman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irs Chapman, Dec. 12, 1865; parents were pioneers of Butler county; on Jan. 27, 1886, she was married to Joseph J. Gough, son of the Rev. and Mrs. William Gough, also pioneers of this community; they located on a farm four and one half miles northeast of Bristow which was their home until moving to Bristow several years ago; leaves six children, Dr. Edward T. Gough, Cedar Rapids; Rev. Susanna E. Kernahan, Phoenix, Ariz; Rev. W.I. Gough, San Fernando, Cal.; Mrs. Mildred Currell, Pullman, Wash.; Rev. Joseph J. Gough, Freeport, Ill.; Galal Ray Gough, Elsinore, Calif.; 25 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; their youngest son, John B., was killed in 1935 in an automobile accident near Urbana, Cal., while serving as athletic coach at Redlands; memeber of the Methodist church for a half century, and a charter member of the Foreign Missionary society, organized in 1900; funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 2:30 p.m. at the U.B. church, in charge of Dr. Earl Baker, Cedar Falls, assisted by Rev. J.M. Miller; the body is expected to arrive from California early Wednesday morning and will lie in state at the Corey home until time for funeral, where all friends will be welcome to call; burial will be at Oak Hill, Bristow.

Funeral Services For Mrs. E. Gough Held on Wednesday
H.L. Searle accompanied the Rev. J.J. Gough to Mashalltown Tuesday night to meet the Rev. Mr. Gough's brother, the Rev. W.I. Gough of San Fernando, California, who accompanied the body of their mother, Mrs. Emma Jane Gough, to Bristow for burial.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gough were held Sunday in the church at San Fernando, of which her son is pastor, with the Rev. William Galbreth, formerly of Mason City, in charge. Three of her children were present, the Rev. S.E. Kernahan of Phoenix, Arizona, Galal Ray Gough of Elsinore, California and the son with whom she lived. Several grandchildren and other relatives were also present.
A second service for Mrs. Gough was held in the United Brethren church at Bristow, Wednesday afternoon in charge of Rev. Edward H. Shuey of Aredale, who was assisted by the Rev. George W. Bonte and the Rev. J.M. Miller. Dr. Earl Baker, who was to have conducted the service, was unable to attend because of automobile trouble.
Sergeant E.C. Crawford of Rockford, Illinois, sang two selections accompanied by Mrs. Ruth Patton of Mason City.

Patton, Jane Patton and Doris Peterson of Mason City, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Coon of Plainfield, Mr. and Mrs. O. Amick of Shell Rock, Mrs. Mae White of Cedar Falls, Mrs. Mary Van Vlack and Mrs. Ethel Gough of Clarksville. Other relatives and friend were present from Greene, Allison and Dumont.
