Robert Givan
Robert Givan, son of Henry and Anna Givan, was born in County Tyrone, Ireland, June 28, 1858, and departed this life July 31st, 1933, at the age of 75 years, one month, and three days. He was in his usual health and passed away while driving his automobile. He had suffered from heart trouble the past year.

He emigrated from Ireland when a boy of nine years old, coming with his parents to Iowa and settling near Garden Grove, Decatur county. He moved later to Madison county which has since been his home. He had lived on the farm where he was residing at the time of his death for 42 years. He was baptized in the Presbyterian faith in the church of Ireland when a child, and although he attended church services but little in later years he has ever believed in the right and was always ready to help those in need or trouble. He gave of his means for the support of the church and the uplift of the community where he lived and where he will be sadly missed. He was a man of staunch character and was well read, always being posted on the affairs of the nation.

Purdy, who passed to her reward February 14, 1921, Mrs. Maude Allen, Mrs. Dell Tucker and R. Lloyd of Winterset, Mrs. Edith Bevington of Clarinda, Mrs. Merle Brown of Cut Knife, Saskatchewan, Canada, Mrs. Ruth N. Wilson of Villa Grove, Colorado, and Mrs. Verda A. Hannon of Greenfield, Iowa.
