Mrs. Anna Handley a native of Ireland who came to America with her parents as an infant, died Thursday, Jan. 21 at Clarinda, Ia. She was 86 years of age and had been ill for several years.

Mrs. Handley spent her early life in Wayne county. She was married at Winterset to John F. Handley on Feb. 10, 1887. The first three years of their married life were spent in Guthrie county and they returned to Madison county where she since had resided. For the last 31 years, her home had been in Winterset.

She was a life-long member of the Methodist Church.

Mrs. Handley's husband preceded her in death in 1939. She leaves three children, Ray E. Handley of Lorimor, Mrs. Myrtle Johnson of Winterset and Mrs. Goldie Thomas of Greenfield; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Emma Handley of Lorimor.
