LINCOLN - Joseph Gary Arthurs, 53, died Aug. 2, 2005, at a Bangor hospital, after a brief but valiant battle with cancer. He was born March 10, 1952, in Lincoln, the son of Ila (Boyington) and William Asa Arthurs Sr. Joe enjoyed fishing, hunting, the outdoors and being in the woods.

In addition to his parents of Lincoln; he is survived by two sons, Scott M. Arthurs of Orrington and Robert J. Arthurs of Lincoln, and their mother, Joyce A. Arthurs; three grandchildren, Bradley Michael Arthurs of Orrington and Tanisha Alexis Arthurs and Jasmine Folster of Mattawamkeag; three sisters, Linda Houghton and her husband, Everett, of Lee, Ellen Shorey and her husband, Eric, of Lee, and Robin Polomski and her husband, Grant, of Connecticut; three brothers, Larry of St. Simons Island, Ga., Bill Jr., of Lee, and Jerry and his wife, Phyllisan, of Macwahoc; many nieces and nephews.

Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lee. (Bangor Daily News 8/4/2005)
