Larry Gene Arthurs 73 of Lincoln Maine passed away on April 11 2018 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Larry was born in Lincoln Maine on July 2 1944 the son of William Asa and Ila ( Boyington) Arthurs. He attended schools in Lincoln before joining the United States Army where he served in the Special Forces as a Green Beret. Larry then entered into Law Enforcement where he worked as a police officer in Lincoln Maine and in North Carolina before entering the United States Border Patrol where he received the rank of Patrol Agent in Charge of Tampa Florida. After his retirement he worked as an instructor for several years at FLETC, Georiga training new federal employees in driving.Larry is survived by his wife Rowena ( Smith) Arthurs, a son Larry H. Arthurs and his children Bradley and Heather Arthurs, a daughter Sirena Arthurs Doll, brothers Jerry Arthurs and his wife Phyllis Ann and William ( Billy) Arthurs, sisters Linda Houghton, Ellen Shorey and her husband Eric, and Robin Polomsky and her husband Grant, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.Larry is predeceased by his parents, a brother Joe Arthurs and a grandson Larry H. Arthurs Jr. Larry was a member of the National Drug Free Power Lifting association where he holds the record for his class in bench press.

He spent his retirement between Saint Simoms Island Georiga and his camp on Caribou Pond in Lincoln. He was an avid fisherman, a mentor to many,a friend to all and will be fondly remembered and missed for his guidance, sense of humor, and the stories he told. A grave side memorial is planned for May 26th at Woodlawn Cemetary in Lee Maine at 11am where he will receive a Military Service. Friends and Family will then gather at the American Legion Hall in Lincoln.
