1776: Anza Expedition

María Agustina Bojorques y Lara was the only child of soldado Pedro Antonio Bojorques y Romero (1754-1815) and María Francisca Lara y Nuñez (1756-1777). She accompanied her parents to Alta California with Anza in 1776, where her mother died shortly after their arrival. Her father then married María Angela Trejo de Alviso, the widow of Domingo Alviso y [?]. María Agustina married her step-brother, Francisco Xavier Alviso y Trejo, at the Monterey Presidio Chapel December 12, 1787 (SC Marriage 00358). She died at Monterey and was buried at the Presidio Chapel Cemetery (San Carlos) August 25, 1816 (SC Death 02179).
