She spent her childhood growing up on the family farm and got her first six years of education in a one room school house. She then went on to graduate from Clarion High School and attend Clarion State Teachers College.
Beverly was the daughter of the late Harry V. and Virginia McCall Curll. She married William Craig Daugherty February 23, 1957, who preceded her in death in 2007. They established their home in Clarion and during their 50 years of marriage, raised three children and was active in the First Baptist Church. Following retirement from OI Glass Co. after 33 years she enjoyed wintering in SW Florida.
Mrs. Daugherty is the tenth generation of William Frampton, a Quaker from Philadelphia, PA. She joined the Daughters of the American Colonists (DAC) in 1967 as a member of the Kus-Kus-Ka Chapter in New Castle, PA. Mrs. Daugherty has held a number of Chapter, State and National Offices along with several chairmanships of various committees, and is an Honorary State Regent of the PA State Society, having served from 2000 to 2003. At the time of her death she was the National President of the National Society of the DAC. She was proud to be a life member of the Clarion Historical Society and a Life Promoter of the Children of the American Colonists. Out of her love for genealogy comes her membership and involvement in several other lineal societies, including Daughters of the American Revolution, DAC, Bar and Bench Society, Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, and Quakers Society. Mrs. Daugherty also found time to be involved in the Order of the Eastern Star having served as worthy matron.
Mrs Daugherty is survived by three children, Joan Kriebel of Clarion, Craig Daugherty and his wife, Donna, of Hughesville, MD, and Jayne Daugherty of Seattle, WA. She also is survived by two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren. Also surviving are several sister and brother-in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Beverly in death in addition to her parents and husband were her brother Ross Curll, and a sister-in-law and several brother-in-laws.
Family and friends will be received on Monday form 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Tuesday from 2:00 pm to 4:00pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 330 Wood Street, Clarion, PA and from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Wednesday at the First Baptist Church, Clarion, PA. Eastern Star Services will be held for Beverly on Monday at 6:45 pm at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Clarion, PA, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday with Rev. Keith Dovenspike officiating.
