Virginia Ross Curll - Retired Clarion University employee; enjoyed family, grandchildren, quilting
MONROE TWP - Virginia Ross Curll, 84, of Monroe Township, died of a sudden illness at 1:15 a.m. Saturday, December 15, 2001 in Clarion Hospital.
Born May 14, 1917, in Toby Township, Clarion County, she was the daughter of the late A. Guy and Hazel Bashline McCall.
She was married December 10, 1935, to Harry V. Curll, who died November 3, 1982.
Mrs. Curll was retired from Clarion University of Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Curll also was a member of the Clarion County Chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Clarion Chapter Order of Eastern Star.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed her family, grandchildren, and quilting.
Surviving are a daughter and her husband, Beverly and William C. Daugherty of Clarion; a son and his wife, Ross V. and Phyllis Curll of McMurray; five grandchildren, Joan Kriebel of Clarion, Craig Daugherty of Waldorf, Md., Jayne Daugherty of Seattle, Wash., Angie Knight of Houston, Texas, and Scott Curll of Pittsburgh; two step-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Curll also is survived by a sister, Helen Schrecengost of Shippenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Curll was preceded in death by three sisters, Kathryn Wyncoop, Mary Cunningham and Guyla Magness, and a brother, Ralph McCall.
The family received friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, December 17, in the Goble Funeral Home in Clarion.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday (today), December 18, in the First Baptist Church in Clarion. The Rev. Keith Richardson will officiate.
Interment will follow in Churchville Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Clarion.
