DIED
At Franklin, Rowan County, Jan. 17th, 1882, Mrs. Fannie V. Thomason, wife of Mr. Wm. T. Thomason, in the 34th year of her age.

Mrs. Thomason was born in Salisbury, March 23rd, 1848, and was the daughter of the late Mr. John Shuman Sen. and Elmina L. Thomason [sic, should read Elmira?]. She was early dedicated to God, the Presbyterian Church, being baptised by the Rev. Arch. Baker. She was trained in the Sabbath School of the Presbyterian Church, and at an early period became a communicant, and a teacher in the Sabbath School. She was married to Mr. Thomason in 1867 and at once moved to Franklin where she became an active member of the Church, and a useful member of society. She was a faithful wife and mother, lived in the fear of God, and died in the hope of a blissful immortality. Her remains were intered in the burying ground of the Presbyterian Church of Franklin, her old pastor preaching the funeral, to a large and sympathizing congregation.
