Lumin Copsey
Lumin Copsey, 90, of Ukiah died Thursday, Sept. 13, 1990 in his home. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Ukiah First Christian Church. The Rev. John Shockley will officiate.
Mr. Copsey was born Aug. 23, 1900 in Lower Lake. He was a member of the Ukiah community for 39 years. Copsey worked for Masoniti for 15 years as a machinist. He retired in 1965. At the age of 15, he went to work for a shirt factory where he serviced the sewing machines. During World War I in 1918, he went to work at Mare Island as a machinist. He was past master of the Masonic Lodge in 1972.
He married Lela Ebbinghausen in 1953 and is survived by her. Mr. Copsey is also survived by three daughters, Lois Hatton of San Mateo, Georgina Wood of Lower Lake and Lorena Houghton of Clearlake Oaks; a sister Velma Cox of Eljon; eight grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ukiah Hospice or Shriners Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of the Eversole Mortuary.

Note: Lumin was married twice, 1st to Gertrude Vienna Beard, and 2nd to Lela A. Ebbinghausen. All children listed in his obiturary are children of Lumin and his 1st wife, Gertrude Beard.
