Milan--Services have been set for Lena L. Heath, 97, of Milan, who died Saturday at the Saline Evangelical Home. Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. Thursday at the Ochalek-Stark Funeral Home, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday. The Rev. King Hanna of Marble Memorial United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Marble Park Cemetery. Born May 4, 1899, in Leipsic, OH, she was the daughter of Andrew M. and Harriett (Oliver) Tooman. She had lived in Milan since 1908. She was married on Nov. 16, 1917 to Thurlow Heath in Azalia. He died May 29, 1988. She was a member of Marble Memorial United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, the Milan Senior Citizens and the Michigan Farm Bureau. She enjoyed making afghans for others. Surviving are a daughter, Vivian Smith of Milan; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren, and 25 great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by two daughters, Berneth Wilson and Miriam Hayes and a son, Dale Heath. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Saline Evangelical Home or Marble Memorial United Methodist Church.

HEATH, THURLOW DALE, (24 Apr 1936-17 July 1994)
Milan, MI--Age 58, died Sunday morning, July 17, 1994 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital following a courageous fight with cancer. He was born April 24, 1936 in Milan, the son of Thurlow and Lena (Tooman) Heath. On June 16, 1956, he married Marge Tomecek in Milan and she survives. Mr. Heath retired as Lieutenant from the Ann Arbor Police Dept. in 1991 after 35 years of service. He served over 25 years on the Milan Area Volunteer Fire Dept. of which he presided as Fire Chief for the past 12 years. He had also served on the community relations board for the Federal Correction Institute of Milan. His memberships included the Marble Memorial United Methodist Church, Loyal Order of the Moose #335 of Milan, Sons of the American Legion #268 of Milan, the Ann Arbor BPO Elks #325, the Tri-County sportsman League, Bulls Eye Hunt Club, the Ruffled Grouse Society and the NRA. Survivors, besides his wife Marge, and mother, Lena Heath, include three sons, Roger (Renee) of Tecumseh, Tim (Anita) and Tom (Lesley), all of Milan; seven grandchildren, Joseph, Joshua, Jena, Megan, Thomas, Adam and Andrew Heath; a sister, Vivian Smith of Milan. He was preceded in death by his father and two sisters, Burneth Wilson and Miriam Hayes. Friends may call at the Ochalek-Stark Funeral Home, Milan on Monday 4-9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 12-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Marble Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Goudie and Rev. Irma Ward Co-officiating. Burial will follow in Marble Park Cemetery, Milan.
