Services for Effie Mae Brooks Freeman, 87, of Natchez, who died Sunday, March 20, 2011, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McNeely Road Church of God with the Rev. Tom Tapley, the Rev. Julius and Catherine Roberts and Vicki Glasscock officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from noon until service time Wednesday, both at the Church.

Mrs. Freeman was born Jan. 22, 1924, in Bryson City, N.C., the Daughter of James Harrison Brooks and Hattie Victoria Brendle Brooks.

She was preceded in death by Her Parents and Her Husband of 67 years Adolph Freeman; two Sisters, Dolly Dixon and Ruby LeBeaux; two Brothers, James and Paul Brooks.

Survivors include seven Children, Lonnie Freeman and Wife, Brenda, and Marilyn Joyce Allred, all of Natchez, Nina Deane Ashley and Dowyal Wayne Freeman and Wife, Connie, all of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., Jack Ray Freeman and Wife, Kathy, of Olive Branch, MS.; Wilma Ann Welsh and Husband, Philip, of Hendersonville, Tenn., and Lester Gene Freeman of Monroe, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren, Christopher Freeman, Leah Whitfield, Lori Smith, Kenley Bailey, Brian Allred, Anthony Ashley, Steve Freeman, Shelly Kave, Heather Freeman, Phip Welsh, Matthew Swallows and Kyle Leath. 14 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Pergie Bradford, Jena, LA.; Lula Gardner, Mebane, N.C. and Floy Parris, Bryson City, N.C. and Special Niece Dani Mullins Troutman.

Pallbearers will be Chris Freeman, Steve Freeman, Brian Allred, Phil Welsh, Hunter Freeman and Steve Troutman.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Adolph Freeman Memorial Fruit Fund at McNeely Road Church of God or to a charity of choice.
