Services for Mrs. Alpha Cleveland, a 109-year-old resident of Milwaukee, WI; were held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Buffalo United Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery in Kosciusko, MS.

Mrs. Cleveland, a native of Neshoba County, MS; died Nov. 13, 1988, at Sinai Hospital in Milwaukee, WI; following a long illness. She was a member of Greater Galilee Baptist Church in Milwaukee, WI. She served on the Mother Board as long as her health permitted.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Pencie Cleveland, and Mrs. Eunice Griffin of Kosciusko, MS; Mrs. Jeroldine Nash and Mrs. Clatie Olive of Milwaukee, WI; a son, Robert L. Cleveland of Milwaukee, WI; 59 grandchildren, 111 great-grandchildren; 37 great-great-grandchildren and three great-great-great-grandchildren.




Rev. Charles McMillon officiated.
Myricks Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Pallbearers were Butch Bentley, Jeffrey Cross, Clarence Kern, Jr.,
Larry Boatman, Craston Cross, and Billie R. Griffin.

Mrs. Cleveland died on Nov. 13, 1988, in Milwaukee, WI. Born Sept. 23, 1879, in Neshoba County, MS; she was the daughter of the late, Mrs. Amanda Simmons and Edward Slaughter.

Surviving her are four daughters, 39 grandchildren, 111 great-grandchildren, 37 great-great-grandchildren, and three great-great-great-grandchildren.

She was the aunt of three Clarksdale residents, Mrs. Climmie Slaughter Montgomery, Mrs. Mary A. Slaughter McClung, and Mrs. Johnnie Mae Wing.



Rev. Charles McMillon officiated.
Burial was in the Buffalo Cemetery.
