Judge Nelson Avery Rector was a native of Prairie Lee in Caldwell County, Texas. He died at a local hospital in San Antonio. He had practiced law since 1875. He had been a District Judge in Austin and had been an attorney in Laredo before he retired in 1937. He came to San Antonio in 1937 from Laredo. Judge Rector held the rank of Major in the Texas National Guard. A brother preceded him in death last week. Survivors are his wife; one daughter Mrs. Willie Wooldridge; four brothers; two sisters.
