Lillie Irene Battenfield-Tate,92,of Muskogee,died Monday,
October 3,2005 at her home. She was born June 15,1913 to
John and Addie(Laffoon)Davidson in Tahlequah where she grew up and attended school. Lillie and Leland Battenfield
married on March 22,1930 and made their home in Tahlequah. She worked at wheeler Grocery, Grandview School and as a waitress at Folsom's cafe. She later worked as a counselor for the pages at the State Capitol until her retirement.
Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers, one
sister, three sons. Sidney Battenfield, Herb Battenfield,
and Lawrence Battenfield and two grandsons, Ronnie Marlowand Randy Battenfield. She is survived by her husband,
John Tate of Muskogee, two daughters, Daisy Barton and
her husband, Don, of Portland, OR and Lois Hudson of
Sequoyah Bay; three step-sons, James Tate, Marc Tate and Charles Tate; one step-daughter, Janice Fullton; six-teen grandchildren, and many great-grand children. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Foster's Ivory
Chapel with Rev. Bill Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Tahlequah City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Hudson, Michael Pevehouse, Marty Battenfield, James Richarson, Marc Tate, Will Craig and Gerald Crowe. Funeral
services arrangements are under the direction of
Foster-Petering Funeral Home.
