Stanley T. Dellinger, 86, was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, with his family by his side, at the York Hospital. He was the husband of Frances (Miller) Dellinger, with whom he shared 66 years of marriage.

Born on November 25, 1924, in Timberville, Va., he was one of 14 children of the late Martha (Biller) and Noah C. Dellinger.

Stanley honorably served his country during World War II in the U.S. Marine Corps. He retired from L.S. Lee (formerly H.J. Williams) after 50 years of employment, in various positions, his last being a dispatcher. Mr. Dellinger was honored to be one of 254 people out of 268,000 people, in York County, that voted for 50 years without missing one time. He attended the Madison Avenue Church of the Brethren. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. In later years, he was passionate about feeding the birds and squirrels in his backyard daily. Stanley was a loving husband, father, and grandfather whose presence will be deeply missed.

Mr. Dellinger leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Frances Dellinger of York; three children, Brad Dellinger and wife Lynn of Boone, N.C., Gerry Sharp and husband George, Carolyn Copenheaver and husband Larry, all of York; a daughter-in-law, Harriet Dellinger of Florida; four grandchildren, Dr. Duane Copenheaver of Blacklick, Ohio, Jeffrey Pettit and wife Robyn of Pocomoke City, Md., Melissa Dulin, Wendy King and husband Brian, all of York; nine great-grandchildren, Brittany, Josh, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Brian, Emily, Drew, Breanna, and Ian; one great-great-granchild, Ella; seven brothers and sisters in Virginia; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Stanley Dellinger; and five siblings.

Burial will immediately follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
