"Johnson, Rev. Wm. A. died Friday Mar. 28, 1980 at St Joseph Mercy Hospital. He was born Feb. 5, 1895 in Dayton Township, Mich., the son of James Hiram and Elizabeth (Kelley) Johnson. He married Ruth Wells Nov. 25, 1915 in Caro, Mich. and she survives. Rev. Johnson served as a Methodist minister for over 40 years in several churches in the Ann Arbor area including 15 years from 1935 to 1950 at the Marble Memorial Methodist church in Milan. He was also chaplain at the Chelsea Retirement Center for 5 years until 1969. Rev. Johnson was elected treasurer of the Ann Arbor District Board of Extensions until June of 1979. Survivors include: two sons; two daughters; nine grandchildren and great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Sam (Hollis) Wallace also survive. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Marble Memorial Methodist Church with Pastor Claire Tosch presiding.
