She was born September 18, 1919 in Highland Park, MI to William and Ruth (Wells) Johnson.
On June 15, 1938 she married Maynard E. Bird in Milan and he preceded her in death on May 15, 1981.
Mrs. Bird was a member of Marble Memorial United Methodist Church since 1935, the choir for 50 years and was past president of the United Methodist Women. Wilma was a 4-H leader for 10 years and was active on the board of Aid in Milan serving as treasurer for several years.
Survivors include one son, three daughters, 12 grandchildren , 19 great grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, many dear friends and son-in-law Paul Merrell.
Private burial at Marble Park Cemetery, Milan, MI. Memorial
Services will be held at 11:00am, with visitation at 10:00 am Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Chelsea Retirement Community Chapel with Pastor Robert Miller and Reverend Cathy Rafferty co-officiating.
