Obituary #2 dated Feb 17, 1922 – J. W. Jones aged about 65 years died at his home in Athens township last week as a result of getting two fingers cut off in a small mill at Cook. The fingers were dressed but failed to heal resulting in lock jaw. Early Melbourne newspaper, Melbourne, Arkansas.

Obituary #2 dated Feb 17, 1922 – Died of Blood Poison - John Will Jones an aged citizen of Boswell, died last Friday at his home, after a few days illness. Some three weeks ago Mr Jones got his fingers caught in a grist mill, necessitating the amputation of some of the joints. Blood poison set up a few days before his death. Mr Jones was well and favorable known, he having been a resident of this county for many years. He is survived by his wife and several children. - Calico Rock Progress, Calico Rock, Arkansas.
