Winthrop, March 22, —Charles Munson, died on Sunday (3/19/1939) at his home after a long illness with heart trouble.

He was born in a log house on the present farm, June 26, 1857, one of 10 children of Edward and Melissa Hulburd Munson. He attended the district school two miles from his home and when 20 years old went west for seven years, and also spent a year in Boston. On March 12, 1890 he married Miss Julia Cryderman of Long Sault Island, at the Massena Methodist parsonage. For the past 46 years the couple have resided on the Munson farm, and kept the property so that it is one of the most attractive farms on the road.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Joel (Pearl) Orton of Scarsdale, NY; three grandchildren, Miss Ivy Orton, who lives with Mr. and Mrs. Munson and teaches at Heuvelton; Mrs. George (Olive) Spaulding, also in the Munson home and Bruce Orton, Springfield, Mass.; a grandson, Dale Spaulding in the home and a sister, Mrs. Maria Vandewalker of Norwood.
