Pearl Orton, 91, Potsdam, died on (Sept. 9, 1982) at the Highland Nursing Home in Massena.

She was born Nov. 16, 1890 in Winthrop, daughter of Charles G. and Julia Cryderman Munson. She attended Brushton High School, graduating in 1909. She married Joel W. Orton on Nov. 1, 1913.

She died on March 27, 1967. She was a schoolteacher, teaching at the Jenkins Neighborhood School, the Croils Island School, and the Lost Nation School. She was a member of the WSCS of the Methodist Church of Brasher Falls.

Surviving are a son, Bruce R. of Winthrop; two daughters, Mrs. Olive Dennicourt of Potsdam and Mrs. James (Ivy) Hurley of Silver Creek, NY; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Burial was in Winthrop Cemetery.
