Mrs. Essie B. Bacon, 63, widow of the late Edwin H. Bacon, Jr., died last Sunday night in a Jesup hospital.

She was a member of the Glennville Baptist Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. R.H. Woodcock, Adak, Alaska, Miss Norma Bacon, Glennville, Mrs. J.I. Thompson, Glennville, Mrs. C.A. Crisp, Birmingham, Ala.; three sons, the Rev. James E. Bacon, Odum, W.A. Bacon, Jacksonville, Fla., and Johnnie J. Bacon, Glennville; one sister, Miss Fannie Barnard, Glennville; two brothers, J.C. Barnard, Glennville, and W.C. Barnard, Vidalia; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Glennville Baptist Church Tuesday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Raymond G. Johnson, pastor, and the Rev. J.D. Rabun, of Lyons, officiating.

Burial was in the Glennville Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Winton Dixon, Charles Cowan, Coy Perkins, Rinaldo Thompson, Densel Sapp, and Ira Hugh Swindell.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the Lottie Moon Circle W.M.S. of the Glennville Baptist Church.
