Judith was adopted by the Irwin's at one month old. She grew up always knowing she was adopted. Her parents would tell her, "we love you and you are adopted."

Judi developed arthritis in her knees at age 7 and the family moved to Sacramento where the air was not as humid.

As a child she went to work everyday with her parents who owned a delicatessen in San Mateo. Her parents set up a swing set and bed in the back room of the deli so she could play and take naps.

Judi loved playing teacher with her younger sister and the other children in the neighborhood. She always was the teacher and had the children sit in the chairs acting like the school children.

She met her husband while in College. She graduated from UNLV with a BA in Education. She married and had two children.
