Waycross - Eva L. Thompson Hurst, 84, died Saturday afternoon in Waycross after an extended illness. The Screven County native had lived in Statesboro most of her life. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by one son, Wallace J. Hurst Jr., Waycross; one daughter, Mrs. Inez H. Davis, Statesboro; one sister, Mrs. Estella Bazemore, Springfield; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The funeral service for Mrs. Hurst will be today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Smith-Tillman Mortuary, with the Rev. William Perry officiating. Burial will be in the East Side Cemetery. Smith-Tillman Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
