Albert Celestine, prominent dairyman: Albert J. Celestine of Scenery Hill R.D. 2, Somerset Township, died unexpectedly at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, 1985, in Washington Hospital following a one-week stay. He was 72.
Born Sept 16, 1914, at Scenery Hill R.D., he was a son of the late Samuel and Elizabeth Santerelli Celestine.
He was a prominent dairyman, nationally known for his Guernseys and a well-known dairy judge. He was the owner and operator of Elsview Farm of Scenery Hill R.D. 2.
A lifelong resident of the Scenery Hill area, he was past-president and member of the Pennsylvania Guernsey Breeders. He was vice president of the Washington County Dairy Herd Improvement Board.
Mr. Celestine was a member of the American Guernsey Breeders, Pennsylvania Farmers Association, West Pike Run Advisory Council and West Pike Run Grange 1928.
He was a member and past trustee of the First Presbyterian Church of Bentleyville.
He was a self-employed contractor and was employed by Sam Boccabello and Son Construction Co. of Bentleyville. He retired from both in 1976. Two of his local projects included the Union National Bank of Bentleyville and the manse of the First Presbyterian Church of Bentleyville.
His fir wife, Naomi Ferguson Celestine died Oct 18, 1970.
On May 18, 1973, he married Jean Roberts Celestine who survives.
Also surviving are one son, A. James Celestine of Scenery Hill R.D. 2; two sisters, Mrs. Bernard (Mafalda) Risbon of Scenery Hill and –[can't read] Nardone of Mount Clemens, Mich. And several nieces and nephews.
Two sisters, Mrs. Rose Tiberie and Mrs. Ann Rotondo, are deceased.
