WESTON'S MILLS - Clyde W. Collins
died Wednesday (Feb. 13, 1965) in the Allegany Nursing Home following a long illness.
Born in Weston's Mills on Jan. 24, 1898,
be was a son or John and Amelia Babbitt
Collins. On Oct. 3, 1925, in Portville, he
married the former Elsie Borst, who sur·
vives.
Mr. Collins was associated with his fa·
ther in Olean Service Company ice and
coal business, and he had been employed
by Clark Brothers from 1941 until retiring
in 1963. Following retirement, be operated
a pipe organ business and repair service
for several years.
He was a lifelong member of St. Andrew's
United Methodist Church, where he was
treasurer, Sunday school superintendent,
past trustee and a choir director
for over 40 years. He was a charter member of
Kinney Hose Company of Weston's
Mills; a member of Portville Masonic
Lodge 579, F&AM; the Salamanca Chapter
262 York Rite; St. John's Command-
ery 24, Knight Templar; the Olean
Scottlsh Rite Bodies; Olean Chapter of the
Royal Arch Masons; and a member of the
Coudersport Consistory.
Surviving besides his widow are several
cousins.
Friends may call at the Guenther Funeral
Home Inc., 1303 E. State St., Olean,
Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral
and committal services will be held Saturday
(Feb. 16, 1985) at 2 p.m. in St. An-
drew's United Methodist Church. The
Rev. Robert Coppings, pastor. will officiate.
Burial will be Chestnut Hill Cemetery,
Portville.
Members of Portville Masonic Lodge
579 will conduct a Masonic memorial
service Friday at 7:30 in the funeral
home.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to
St. Andrew's United Methodist Church
Memorial Fund.
