Margaret M. DeBusk, was the daughter of David Jesse Debusk (1833-1882) and Winnie Eliza Nichols (b. 1841 in Mt. Airy, Surry County, NC).

Margaret was one of nine children per the 1880 Census:

Robert Strother (1858-1945) - was a teacher.

Alexander Campbell (1860-1915) - was a farmer.

George Washington (1864-1940) - was a cabinet maker.

Virginia Jennie (Widener) (b. 1866) - married John Andrew Widener (b. 1863) on Apr. 2, 1884. Died on Jan. 31, 1888 due to consumption.

John E. (b. 1867).

Ida May (Ourt) (1872-1908) - married William C. Ourt (1855-1925) - died of breast cancer.

Ann Eliza (b. 1875).

William Mansfield (1878-1935) - was in the Spanish American War.

Margaret married Lewis Jefferson Walden on July 8, 1887 in Washington County.

They had ten children.
