Juanita Beard Foster
Frances Juanita Beard Foster, 84, of Lynchburg, went peacefully to be with her heavenly father on Friday, Feb. 25, 2011. She was the widow of Elzey Minor "Buck" Foster Jr.
Born in Appomattox County, she was the daughter of the late James Howard Beard and the late Lottie Wilmer Beard. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Henry, George, Carrington, Herman, Herbert and Robert Beard; and five sisters, Estelle B. Martin, Marie B. Johnson, Irene B. Hurt, Zelia B. Chapman and Virginia B. Epperly.
Frances was a member of West Lynchburg Baptist Church and was retired from General Electric Corp. after 20 years of service. Most of all, Frances was a devoted, loving wife and mother, whose greatest joy was being with her family.
She is survived by four children, James Horton and Brenda H. Brown, both of Lynchburg, Janice H. Adcock and her husband, Robert, of Madison Heights, and Quinton Horton, of Bedford; seven grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, at Whitten Monelison Chapel by Pastor J.D. Surbaugh. Interment will follow in Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery in Stonewall.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
