Paul E. Carter, 68, 1714 E. 15th St., died Tuesday in Ball Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was a lifelong resident of Muncie and had attended Muncie schools. He retired in 1980 after working 30 years for Warner Gear (now Borg-Warner Automotive Transmission Systems). He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 287, Born Warner Sympathy Club, and was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine Carter; two sons, Paul E. Carter Jr. and Phillip L. Carter; two daughters, Patricia Ann Carter and Mrs. Kris (Evelyn) Sewell; two brothers, Robert and Charles Carter; three sisters, Joann Lambert, Susie Wake, and Margaret Love; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Three brothers, George, Cecil, and Jackie Carter, and a sister, Ruby Minnick, are deceased.
