A native of Frankfort, Ky., Mrs. Carter had lived in Muncie since 1917. She was a former employee of Ball Corp. and was a member of Free Christian Church.
Survivors include five sons, Cecil, Paul, Robert, Charles, and Jack; three daughters, JoAnn, Sue, and Margaret; three sisters, Mrs. Stella Williams, and Mrs. Mary Raines, and Mrs. Bessie Jackson; 24 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Parson Mortuary with burial in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday or prior to services Tuesday.
