Mr. Carter died Thursday in his home. Born in Muncie, he attended local schools. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He worked at Warner Gear (now Borg-Warner Automotive Transmission Systems) during the 1950's and at Ball Memorial Hospital during the 1960's.
Surviving are three stepdaughters, Sharon, Jean and Shirley; three brothers, Gene, Bobby, and Charlie Carter; three sisters, Joanne, Beverly and Margaret; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
