Private James McCurdy Grosvenor
Served with Co. F 30th Iowa Vol. Inf. during the civil war of 1861-65. He enlisted at Bloomfield, Davis Co. Iowa on Aug. 13 1862 for 3 years service, he listed his occupation as "Farmer" and was honorably discharged at Davenpost, Iowa on July 8th 1865. Beloved husband of Mary James (Jones) Grosvenor, married Aug. 7th 1860 in Davis Co. Iowa. (They had 9 children, Dora, Rosalie, Clara, William, Elmer, James, Elizabeth, Harry & Murnie.) They came to West in the early 1900s and to Coeur d'Alene about 1915, James listed his occupation as "Farmer" on his GAR Membership application. He died on Jan. 7th 1917 at the age of 78 years 1 month & 14 days and was laid to rest in the Forest Cemetery. Mary would follow him on Aug. 7th 1931 and was laid to rest next to James.
