The family of Albert Montgomery Halterman, Torpedoman’s Mate 1c, was notified that he was presumed deceased. He was serving on board the USS Trout, a submarine which failed to return from patrol operations in the Pacific area April 7, 1944. Halterman would have been 26 when he died.
