Lawrence Thurman Bailey, died December 17, 1980 at Vancouver, B.C. in his 92nd year. Born at Blue Field, West Virginia May 5, 1888, Mr. Bailey came to Canada and lived first in Saskatchewan. He came to B.C. in 1948 and lived at Tappen for many years. In 1975 he moved to Vancouver to live with his daughter, Violet, until 1977 at which time he resided at the German Canadian Care Home at Vancouver until he passed away.
He is survived by two sons Cecil and Bruce. A third son Allan, predeceased him in 1977. Also surviving are two daughters; Mrs. Violet Lamb and Helen Bailey. He had seven grandsons; Gregg Ross, Brad, Roy, Harvey, Ralph and Michael Bailey; one grand-daughter, Sherri Bailey; 15 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. To most of his friends in Salmon Arm and Tappen he was known and referred to as "Pop" Bailey.
