"J.M. Bailey, 75, died at his home on Bramwell Road at 8:30 last night after an illness of several months. Mr. Bailey, the son of John Matt Bailey, moved from this section to [Rugby, Pierce Co., ND] Canada in 1898, but returned in 1926. He was well known in this region, where he had many friends. He is survived by eight sons and a daughter. R. Lake Bailey, Vineward Street this city; Oscar Bailey who lived with his father; Fred H. James, and Lawrence of Demaine, Sask.; Arthur of Utah; Roy of Saskitoon, Canada; Mrs. J.H. Bailey [should be Bogle] of Sebring, Florida. The deceased was a member of the Christian Church."
